Orchestra Baobab is a real institution, a cornerstone of African music. It was founded in 1970 in Dakar as a club formation inspired by the Afro-Cuban fever that swept though West Africa. It quicky forged a unique style, blending Maninka, Wolof and Serer sounds with Latin Rhythms and timeless elegance. From their first golden era to their remarkable resurgence in the early 2000s, led by producer & World Circuit guru Nick Gold, the band has continuously reinvented its legacy, captivating each generation with its hypnotic groove.

Before unveiling their highly anticipated new album ‘Made in Sénégal’, Orchestra Baobab gives us a taste of what’s to come with the release of an exclusive live EP in April. This EP captures the raw energy and timeless magic of the band on stage – a vibrant testament to their ongoing influence and virtuosity.

‘Made in Sénégal’ is the second chapter of an musical journey in the form of a trilogy. Following ‘Made in Dakar’ (2007) the new album is set to release in October ’25, and is again a real love letter to the roots and musical future of Senegal. Blending swaying rumba, Mandinka sounds and Afro-Cuban echoes, this album reminds us their music is eternal.

Always balancing tradition and modernity, Baobab’s strings and brass resonate with the rhythms of an entire nation. From Casamance to Fouta, form Dakar to Saint-Louis, each track explores a different facet of Senegal music heritage. Living legend Baaba Maal and some other special guests will embody the bridge between generations.

The adventure will culminate with ‘Made in Africa’, bringing together the great figures of African music. In the meantime we can’t wait to enjoy their warm and captivating music on stage again.
